- Audrain County Courthouse elevator contract signing
- Posted Feb. 13, 2012 midnight
- Audrain County Commissioners held a pre-construction meeting Tuesday to review plans and sign the contract for the construction of the new courthouse elevator. Contractors estimate the project should start by the end of February and be completed within 120-150 days. In 2009, the county was approved for a $215,190 public needs grant under the Community Development Block Grant program to be used for ADA improvements and the cost to replace the existing elevator. Dust, noise and courtroom scheduling will be three major concerns during the construction. Contractors asked for an extra 30 days for unforeseen circumstances. During the construction, handicap accessibility into the courthouse will still be available. ledger photos by kimberly long
