- Mexico Academic Booster Club book drive
- Posted Feb. 15, 2012 midnight
- Members of the Academic Booster Club at Mexico High School were in the lobby of the sports complex during Tuesday night’s basketball game to collect new and gently used books. The book drive was in support of the school's DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) program. Support of DEAR is the group's first formal project. The goal was 750 – a book for each student in the high school. At 8 p.m. the total collected was 550. Other drop-off places for books anytime are the high school office and the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce office downtown. The booster club is also accepting monetary donations with which to purchase new books.
