    • Mexico High School Something From Nothing Players

    • The Something From Nothing Players from Mexico High School Advanced Children's Theatre class have been touring the elementary schools in Mexico performing for the students. Last week was their final tour of the school year when they visited McMillan Elementary. The actors presented a tribute to author/illustrator Bill Peet. At McMillan the students presented “The Ant and the Elephant.” The story features animals (from left) Loralee Hays, rhino; Justin Bolles, vines; Sammie Love, giraffe; Brooke Tessman, bird; Neil Hopkins, ant; Jacob Johnston, lion; and Andy Weber, turtle, that have gotten into a situation they are unable to get out of. They are all saved by the friendly elephant portrayed by Bre Durrett with the ant being the only one that appreciated the elephant’s help. When the elephant gets in trouble it is the ant that comes to her rescue. Instructor Sara Given gave a brief autobiography about Bill Peet.
