- Safety Town in progress this week

- Safety Town for children entering kindergarten this fall is being held this week at St. John’s Lutheran Church. The week’s agenda includes visits from law enforcement agencies and ambulance personnel with safety lessons regarding air bags, animals, electricity, guns/drugs/poisons, trains, strangers, fire, bus, playground, water, bike, safety patrol and graduation on Friday. Wednesday the students learned bus safety before they boarded the bus to Eugene Field School for playground safety. They also toured an ambulance from Audrain Ambulance District. The event is sponsored by the Friends of Safety Town and the Mexico Civic Club. Anne Ridgway is director and Russell Sing with Mexico Public Safety is the officer assisting her.
