    • Pirates drop season opener against California, 18-7

    • The Boonville Pirates football team fell on the road Friday night in the season opener against the California Pintos 18-7. The Pirates led California 7-0 at the half and 7-6 after three quarters of play but were outscored 12-0 in the fourth quarter to suffer the loss. Boonville will host the Higginsville Huskers on Friday, August 31.
