The win improved the Bulldogs to 22-3 and sent them to the district championship game against Helias. On Saturday the Bulldogs claimed their third straight district Championship beating the Helias Crusaders 45-40 in front of a capacity crowd on the Gary Filbert Court at Mexico High School on Saturday. The win sends the Bulldogs into the state playoffs as they travel to Troy Buchanan High School on Wednesday to take on the Duchesne Pioneers at 6 p.m. On Friday night, the Mexico Lady Bulldogs the No. 3 seed in the Class 4 District 8 tournament took to the court with determination and confidence when they faced the No. 2 seed Helias Lady Crusaders, who they had lost to earlier in the year. And that determination helped them with a 40-37 victory over the Lady Crusaders. On Saturday night, the Lady Dawgs had an uphill battle against the No. 1 seed Kirksville Lady Tigers who had lost only one game all year.
