Investigation continues into cause of fire that destroyed restaurant
Fire Marshal: Investigation continues to find cause of Saturday’s fire at Hardee’s restaurant in Mexico.
Shift Manager Tyler Wieberg: The 25 full- and part-time employees have been given the opportunity to work at other nearby Hardee’s locations. The franchise – which is owned by Rising Star, LLC, in Colorado – intends to rebuild, but not until after the investigation is finalized.
History: At approximately 5:18 a.m. Saturday, Mexico Public Safety Officers and Volunteers responded to Hardee's in the 700 block of West Jackson in reference to a fire. Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the building and employees reported finding flame on the walls and ceiling of a back storage room. The fire was eventually extinguished, but the building and contents were completely destroyed.
