Much needed, long awaited bridge is complete

Audrain County Commissioners, former county commissioners, Special Road District 13 members, and others gathered Friday for the dedication of the newly constructed bridge on Audrain County Road 812.
The bridge was constructed by the Audrain County Bridge Department and due to extenuating circumstances, the construction was behind a year and half but is now open for traffic.
In addressing the group attending the dedication, Audrain County Commissioner Richard Webber had high praise for the former commissioners, J.W. Toalson, Robert Bland and James "Pap" Young. "These men got things started and should be recognized," explained Webber.
Bill Todd, former bridge supervisor, also received high praise from Webber. "We owe Bill a big thank you," Webber stated. Also instrumental in helping get the construction started on the bridge was Bryan Associates engineering firm.
This section of ACR 812 originally did not have a bridge and the county needed permission from the Missouri Department of Transportation to build a bridge.
Skip Wilson, district bridge inspector for MoDOT, congratulated Audrain County and commissioners on its accomplished bridge program. "Audrain County's Bridge Replacement Program is utilized throughout the state. Audrain County is used as a benchmark for the bridge replacement program," Wilson stated. "The quality of bridge construction in Audrain County is top quality by the bridge crew and engineering department," he added.
