Virginia Grimwood, 82, of Wellsville

Mary Virginia Grimwood, 82, of Wellsville, passed away at 10:32 A.M., Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Missouri.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 13th at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M until the time of service.

Burial will be in Montgomery City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Erwin, Matthew Erwin, Terry Hadfield, Glenn Higgenbotham III, Jerry Marshall and Michael VandeRiet, Jr.

Virginia was born May 19, 1930, in Bellflower, Missouri, a daughter of Harry Eugene and Lettie Lorene Pratt Delozier.

On April 27, 1947 she married Kenneth Charles Grimwood in Wellsville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1978.

Virginia was a member and baptized at the Atlanta Baptist Church in Atlanta, Missouri and was a previous member of the First Baptist Church in Wellsville. She had lived in the Mexico, Atlanta, Wellsville and Montgomery City area.

Virginia had been a Certified Nurses Aide at Frene Valley Geriatric Center in Hermann.

She enjoyed sewing, ironing, housekeeping, living on the farm and most of all taking care of her family.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann "Patty" Erwin, of Vandalia; grandchildren, Amanda Lynn "Mandy" and Michael VandeRiet, Jr., of Mexico, Glenn T. Higgenbotham III and wife, Elisha, of Auxvasse, Matthew Roy Erwin, of Atlanta and Cynthia Marie "Cindy" Erwin, of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Shelby Weaver, Hayley VandeRiet and Devin VandeRiet, all of Mexico and Taylor Bates, Kevin Bates, Isabell Higgenbotham, Chyanne Higgenbotham and Dillon Higgenbotham, all of Auxvasse; sister and brother-in-law, Loyse "Genie" and Carl Sandbothe, of St. Charles; sister-in-law, Loretta Delozier, of Bellflower; aunt, Mary Lena White, of Wellsville; special daughter, Cynthia Norman, of Wellsville and her daughter, Leah, husband Kyle and their son, Alex Smith, of Mexico; in addition to nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Eugene and Lettie Lorene Delozier, husband, Kenneth Charles Grimwood; daughter, Linda Sue Higgenbotham; sister, Erma Irene Marshall and brother, John Edward Delozier.
