  • AUXVASSE – Auxvasse city officials have issued an order for the entire city to "conserve on water."
Wednesday afternoon the pump in the city water tower stopped working. This means there is no new water being pumped into the tower for the public to use. Wenesday afternoon officials reported about 2 days worth of water left for usage. The current reading was about 40 pounds per square inch (water pressure). If it falls to 20 PSI or below the city will have to issue a boil order. Water use and demand will continue to be monitored closely throughout each day by city officials.
Residents are urged to not use any extra water during the next couple of days and avoid filling swimming pools, watering lawns and flowers, long showers, leaving water running while brushing your teeth, washing vehicles.
Officials are making every effort to get the pump repaired as quickly as possible.
