  • Alan Wayne Oliver, 51, of Atoka, Okla., died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 in Atoka, Okla.
    Alan Wayne Oliver was born April 25, 1961 in Mexico, Mo. to Robert Lee Oliver and Delores Christine Calvetti Oliver Metcalf. Alan graduated from Montgomery County R-2 High School in 1979 and was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1983 until 1986. Alan was a member of the Montgomery City Christian Church and was employed by Ideal Construction in Atoka, Okla., as a Carpenter Foreman.
    Alan is survived by two sisters, Janet Reynolds of St. Charles, Mo., and Karen Hoagland and husband Jerry, of Mexico, Mo. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, Doug Reynolds and wife, Kim, of DeSoto, Mo., Christy Moore and husband, Josh, of Hillsboro, Mo., Jeff Hoagland and wife, Holly, of Mexico, Mo. and Kimberly Hoagland of Mexico, Mo.; one aunt, Charlene Poplawski of St. Charles, Mo.; and four great-nieces and four great-nephews.
    Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Oliver and Delores Christine Metcalf.
    A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Mo. The Reverend Todd Luce will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Mo. Honorary Casketbearers include Doug Reynolds, Jeff Hoagland, Ted Colbert, David Jacobi, Ronnie Lambert, Robert McCurdy, Kenny Roundtree and Alan Scully.
