Minnie Victoria Simmons, 83, of Centralia, Mo. passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
Minnie was born April 6, 1929 in Centralia, the daughter of James Porter and Maggie Randolph Williams.
On Feb. 13, 1953 she was married in Huntsville, Mo. to James C. Simmons, Sr. He preceded her in death Nov. 28, 1975.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence S. Warren, Jr. and his wife, Cassandra, Kansas City, Mo.; James C. Simmons, Jr. and one daughter, Victoria Simmons, both of Centralia; two granddaughters, Carmella R. Warren-Johnson, Fresno, Calif., Olisa C. Warren, Kansas City, Mo.; five great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and as the last sibling of 13, she was preceded in death by four brothers and eight sisters.
She was a high school graduate and was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Centralia.
She chose housekeeping as her occupation and assisted these prominent Centralia families, Ausmus, Mow and Reinhardt.
Funeral services will be held at Fenton Funeral Chapel, Centralia, Saturday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Ray Warren, pastor, Mt. Celestial Baptist Church, Columbia, and Rev. George Colemen, Sr., pastor, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Centralia. Interment will be in Centralia Cemetery, Centralia. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Fenton Funeral Chapel.
The family suggests memorials to Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 304 Fullenwider Street, Centralia.
Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren, Brandon Alex-ander, John Johnson, Jr., Jaylon Johnson, Kurtis Frederick II and Tehya Frederick.
Pallbearers are Warren Williams, Nathan Williams, Jr., Kendall Ganaway, Henry C. "Sonny" Tucker, Chris Enyart and Keith Ganaway.
