Softball, golf, Mexico Middle School cross country

SOFTBALL: Mexico's softball game Monday night was postponed due to heavy rain in Kirksville. A make up date will be scheduled.
GOLF: Mexico Lady Bulldogs golf team competed against Moberly, a tough rival, a team that MHS has been competitive with for many years and rarely beaten. The final was Mexico 204, Moberly 206. Layne Ray medaled for Mexico shooting a 44.
"It was so exciting to see our team use the home course to our advantage, that is what really tipped the scales in our favor," said Lindsey Yancey. The MHS coach continues to give high praise to her team. "I am just so proud of the girls on this team. They are very 'coachable,' using practice time effectively and taking criticisms and advice with the right attitude. It is just awesome to see the girls take what they have learned in practice and taking it to heart, practicing it over and over."
There were several JV girls who had career bests at the match Monday night, boosting JV to a win as well.
Mexico's record is 17-4.

Many of the runners ran a personal best. The boys finished 10 out of 13 teams with 176 runners and the girls finished 9 out of 11 teams with 137 runners.
