"Yesterday was an amazing day for our golf team," Coach Lindsey Yancey said. "As I've said all year, our girls have been and are still working hard at practice and making every competition important. The District tournament is an extremely tense day, this is the tournament that decides who gets to advance to the Sectional tournament (Oct. 8), and on top of all that there are volunteers who count every stroke and watch the girls all day, with no stroke limit on the holes."
"This is the best day to have a good day of golf, but on the other hand it is also the worst day to have a bad round because of all the pressure and high stakes. I am so proud of the girls that they were confident enough that even if they had a bad shot or bad hole, or even a bad 9 holes, they pulled themselves back up and continued. Our team played consistently, even under the pressure, and put in scores that were right on their averages. Kaylee Stone had the best day of golf she's ever had, and what a day to do so. We are looking forward to the Sectional tournament and sending as many players as we can to State."
