County Clerk John B. Graham and Deputy Clerk Frank Eller have sent out to the public utilities companies in Audrain County, the aggregate amount of the valuation of their property as fixed by the State Board of Equalization and the amount of taxes they are to pay for the year of 1912. Total valuation is $1,993,046,22 and taxes amount to $28,355.56."

"Members of the city planning and zoning commission conferred Monday afternoon on whether Mexico's master plan for growth and zoning should be revised and updated and decided to recommend to the city council that this be done. Harlan Bartholomew and Associates, city planners and civil engineers, of St. Louis, laid out the plans for traffic patterns, off-street parking, zoning, locations of schools and other public buildings some 10 years ago. Eldridge Lovelace of the staff has told the planning board that local cost for a review and updating study will require a cost outlay of about $3,800. Part of the expense would be paid by the federal government."

"A record low temperature greeted "Old Newsboys" this morning as they made their rounds selling a special edition of The Ledger as a United Way fund-raising project. The mercury had dipped to 29 degrees by 5:30 a.m., after a constant cooling throughout the night and was likely to go down another few degrees by daylight.
