  • Week Seven – Fayette Falcons

  • The Marceline Tigers are 3-3 after a huge upset win over Westran at Chester Ray Stadium last week. This week, the Black Rage football team travels to Fayette for another Lewis and Clark Conference showdown with the Falcons.
    Fayette comes into this game with a 2-4 record. “They will run out of the Pro-I on offense,” said Head Coach Paul Thomas. “Defensively, the will use a 4-2-5 formation.”
    Coach Thomas reports that the team is doing outstanding in practice this week, and that all of the players need to step up this week.
    “The team is working hard to get better each week,” said Coach Thomas.
    From the LCL's Football Preview: The Fayette Falcons are in their first year under Head Coach Tom Oakley, who has coached football at Fayette for 16 years. Coach Oakley was the team's Defensive Coordinator for the past seven years. Last season, the Falcons were 1-9 overall, and 1-4 in the LCC.Fayette returns 13 lettermen from last season. Our biggest strength will be our experience,” said Coach Oakley. “We were forced to play a number of freshmen and sophomores last year. They gained valuable Varsity experience that will be an asset this season.” The Falcons also return all of their skill positions on offense, as well as five of their top six tacklers on defense.
