North Callaway Thunderbirds celebrated homecoming with a victory over Van-Far/Community R-6 46-6 with North Callaway scoring all of its points in the first half. Coach Mike Emmons pulled his starting team before the end of the half. For North Callaway Vance Allen led the Thunderbirds with 104 rushing yards on six carries, was the top receiver with 2 receptions for 39 yards. Quarterback Jacob Hubner was 7-9 on passes with 91 yards and 2 TDs. On the defense Linebacker Jake Key recovered a fumble and ran for a 27-yard TD.
"This was a good conference game," stated Coach Emmons. "The offensive line did a great job and got things done," he added.
On Friday North Callaway plays at Clopton/Elsberry and could wrap up the conference title.
The Thunderbirds with five wins in a row are 5-2 overall and 4-0 in EMO play.
Van-Far/R-6 is 2-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
The Paris Coyotes had another victory Friday this time at the hands of the Slater Wildcats with the final score 34-26. Paris scored in each quarter. The Wildcats scored in all but the third quarter.
Paris has moved within one game of .500 with a record of 3-4 overall and is 2-1 in league play. They play again Friday at Marceline.
