Evelyn Ann Schrader (nee Milner), age 77, of rural Wellsville, was called to her Heavenly Home at 12:17 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Wellsville, where she had resided since December 29, 2009.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 10th at the Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Luke Wolters at Grace Lutheran Church in Wellsville at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 11th. Burial will follow at the Wellsville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews, Matthew Milner, Montie Milner, Edward Milner, Rick Van Horn, Doug Turner, and Jonathan Turner.
Evelyn was born June 30, 1935, in New Florence, Missouri, the daughter of Montie Pipkin and Dorothy Emma Molly (Oertwig) Milner. She was a lifelong resident of the Wellsville area and a graduate of the Wellsville-Middletown R-1 High School, Class of 1953.
On December 8, 1956, she married Eldon Berrey Schrader and they shared fifty-six years together, establishing their home and farming operation in rural Wellsville.
Evelyn was a homemaker and worked with her husband on their farm. She was a talented artist winning blue ribbons for her oil paintings at the Montgomery County Fair. She enjoyed sewing, flower arranging and ceramics. Evelyn liked gardening and caring for her yard. She was an avid collector of antiques, especially antique glassware.
She enjoyed traveling and made frequent trips with her husband all over the United States, Canada and South America. Evelyn toured the Holy Land as well as many countries in Western and Eastern Europe. Her favorite destination was Hawaii where she and her husband vacationed often.
Evelyn was active in the community. She was a member of the Wellsville Young Farm Wives Club. She was a lifelong and faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wellsville. Evelyn was a member and past officer of Grace's LWML (Lutherans Women's Missionary League), a choir member, a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. She used her artistic talents to design and make many of the banners which are displayed in the church.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Eldon B. Schrader, of rural Wellsville; two brothers and their wives, Ted D. Milner and Maureen of Westminster, Colorado and Sidney A. Milner and Judy of Montgomery City and a brother-in-law, Robert F. Schrader and wife, Allie Joyce, of Paris.
She was the aunt of Montie Milner and Suzanne, of Reno, Nevada, Teresa Milner, of Westminster, Colorado, Karl Milner and Kathy, of Gilette, Wyoming, Edward Milner, of Hastings, Nebraska, Tracy Van Horn and husband Rick, of Wellsville, Matthew Milner and Karen, of Montgomery City, Amy Van Horn and husband Mark, of Warrenton, Lynn Turner and husband Doug, of Paris. She is also survived my many great-nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, M. P. and Dorothy Milner.
