Lake Regional Health System will hold a Breast Cancer Awareness Fair from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, in the hospital’s third floor conference rooms. The event will provide information on breast cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment and support.

“The main goal of the fair is to promote breast cancer education and awareness within the community,” said Marcy Maxwell, R.N., director of Oncology Services at Lake Regional. “As a community, we are very fortunate to have local resources available to support breast cancer patients. Many of these resources will be showcased during the fair.”

Participants will learn about breast self-examination, the importance of mammography, the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, risk factors for developing breast cancer and treatment options.

Representatives also will be available to discuss breast MRI and breast biopsy advances.

In addition, all attendees will receive a coupon for special mammogram pricing. Free colorectal cancer screening kits also will be available.

No registration is required; attendees may come and go throughout the event. For more information, visit
