Kathryn Womack, student of Missouri Fisheries and Wildlife at the University of Missouri visited the children at the Early Childhood Center last week and brought two unusual friends with her – Roger and Baby, both of whom are bats. She also brought a bat detector equipped with a microphone which picks up the high pitch noise from the bats and records it. She warned the children to never touch a bat if they see one because they do carry diseases. She however has had shots and is very careful handling the bats.
