The Mexico Bulldogs soccer team celebrated senior night Thursday with a win over Moberly by the score of 3-0.
Before the game seniors Mathias Whitworth, Cristian Vega, Elijah Robinson, Sean Kelly, Jose Hernandez, Gib Graham and Sergey Comerzan were honored for their contributions to the soccer team. And it was a senior who started things off for the Bulldogs when Comerzan scored in the 19th minute of the first quarter, which was the only goal the Bulldogs would need.
The halftime score was 1-0.
Christian McKeown sealed the win with two goals in the second half with an assist going to another senior Mathias Whitworth.
"Tyler Warmbrodt had another great game in goal to get the shutout. It was great to get a win on senior night but more importantly it gives us some momentum going into districts," said MHS coach Chris Hotop.
The JV team match ended in 0-0 tie.
The Bulldogs begin district play Monday against the Kirksville Tigers at 6 p.m. in Kirksville.
