Centralia 21, California 28

The Centralia Panthers football team played a tenacious second half Monday night coming back from a 21-7 deficit, but fell short with time running out as they lost 28-21 to the California Pintos in the district championship game.
The Pintos controlled the first half of the game with the score at halftime 14-7 in favor of the Pintos. The Panthers however, came back strong in the third period scoring two touchdowns, but could not score in the fourth quarter, when the Pintos scored their fourth touchdown making it 28-21.
For their final game of the season, the Panthers gained a total of 358 yards, 129 in the air and 229 on the ground. Zach Etzler completed 14 passes out of 36 with 1 TD and 1 interception. Austin Kinkead lead in rushing with 144 yards on 17 carries. Dixon Dollens was the leading receiver with 38 yards on 3 receptions and 1 TD.
Kinkead also lead the defense with combined 12 tackles, followed by Ben Graves with 11. Colt Reams had a quarterback sack and recovered a fumble on a Centralia punt. All-in-all the Panther defense held the Pintos to a total of 273 yards, 129 in the air and 144 on the ground.
The Panthers ended their season 10-2. The Pintos now 12-0 play the next round of state playoffs Saturday against Duchesne.
