  • COMMUNITY R-6: Community R-6 Junior High basketball girls played Van-Far on Friday and won 36-30. Leading the way for R-6 was Alissa Curtis with 13 points and Lexus LaGesse with 10.
The girls played a good game. They worked hard the first half and were up by three at half time," stated the R-6 coach Holly Gemes. Coming out in the third quarter Van-Far took the lead for most of the quarter but R-6 was able to get the lead back by one at the end of the quarter. The fourth quarter was the best quarter having most of our points scored there. Coaches pound it into their players that free throws win games and that was definitely the case with this game. Danie Jackson was at the line six different times and made seven of her 13 and R-6 won by six.
NORTH CALLAWAY: North Callaway Junior High eighth grade basketball girls lost 32-19 to Columbia Catholic on Friday. For North Callaway Taylor Wilson lead the team with 13 points and two three-pointers. Emma Baggett scored 10 points for Columbia Catholic.
    North Callaway's record is 0-3.
