Richard William Perkey, 72, of Centralia, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at his home.
Services will be 2 PM, Saturday, Nov. 24 at Arnold Funeral Home, Mexico, MO. Visitation will be held at 1 PM until time of service. Burial with military honors will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Richard was born to Charles and Otha Marie Sapp Perkey on May 29, 1940 in Moline, Illinois.
He married Kathy Woods in 1966.
Richard worked as an electrician with A. B. Chance Co. before opening his own electrical contracting company in 1969. He retired in 1994. He was a member of the Centralia Masonic Lodge.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, puttering on his farm, but most of all spending time with his children, and especially with his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his son, Rod (Christy) of Columbia and his daughter, Richele (Tim) Thwing of St Charles, his grandchildren, Jenna and Jacie Perkey, and Will, Joel and Katie Thwing, and a sister, Faye Howerton, of Centralia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
