To assist displaced Mexico area Hostess workers

JEFFERSON CITY – The State Rapid Response Team has been activated to assist employees in the Columbia area who are facing displacement due to the closure of Hostess' operations in the U.S.

A Rapid Response meeting will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, at the Missouri Career Center, 3626 B South Clark, Mexico.

Representatives from the Central Region Workforce Investment Board will meet with affected employees to provide information on available area job openings and reemployment services available to them such as specialized workshops, skills assessments, job search/resumé assistance, access to training and more. These services are provided by trained workforce professionals with Missouri's Career Center system and are of no cost to the workers or employers.

Any Hostess employee who is facing job loss due to the company's closure is encouraged to file for Unemployment Insurance immediately and attend the following Rapid Response meeting:
