  • Dulcie Vanderpool, 99, Centralia, Mo passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Center in Centralia, Mo. She was born March 10, 1913 in rural Audrain County, the daughter of the late Ara and Jane (Ridgeway) Burnett. On November 17, 1934 she was united in marriage to Dell Vanderpool. He preceded her in death in January of 1968.
    She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son Burnett "BF" Vanderpool and his wife Elizabeth "Libby" of Centralia, Mo; two nieces Peggy Pemberton of St. Charles, Mo and Meg Ely and her husband Charles of Quincy, IL; a nephew Jim Parrish and his wife Rovene of Centralia, Mo; four grandchildren Dell Vanderpool and his wife Christy, Jerry Vanderpool, Rick Vanderpool and his wife Mohna and Earl Vanderpool; three step grandchildren Beth Roberts and her husband Jack, Chad Bensley and Kristy DeOrnellas and her husband Justin; four great grandchildren Dakota, Dusten, Aaron and Katlynn Vanderpool; two step great grandchildren Lesleah and Lisa Roberts; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, one brother Winfield Scott Burnett preceded her in death.
    Dulcie graduated from Kirksville Teachers College and taught at many country schools around Centralia. Later she taught at Chance Elementary, then worked for the Missouri Baptist Home and finally at Woodhaven. She was a member of Centralia First Baptist Church and loved cooking, teaching, taking care of people and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, Mo. Interment will be in the Centralia City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, Mo.
