Regarding stolen firearms case

Jay Lee Hager, 21, of Auxvasse, was sentenced Friday to 58 months in prison involving his possession of more than 24 firearms and ammunition that had been stolen between August and September 2011 in Audrain County.
The following co-defendants were sentenced in November: Ashleigh Louise Jeffries, 28, Fulton, was sentenced to 36 months in prison; John David Branham, 31, Auxvasse, sentenced to 60 months in prison; Darrell Barnett Jr., sentenced to 36 months in prison, and Jackie Lee Clayton 33, of Kingdom City, to 12 months in prison. All appeared before United States Eastern District Judge Catherine D. Perry.
William Kirk, 36, of New Bloomfield and Michael Dunbar, 41, of Auxvasse, pleaded guilty and await sentencing later this month.
This case was investigated by the Audrain and Callaway County Sheriffs offices and the Prosecuting Attorneys for Audrain and Callaway counties. Assistant United States Attorney Tom Albus is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney's office.
