MMS WRESTLING: The Mexico Middle School Wrestling team took part in the Troy Middle School Tournament Saturday. There were no team points kept at the event.
Results for MMS include: Dylan Patton first place 5-0; Kellen Ekern first place 5-0; Brit Wilson first place 5-0; Alex Bellamy first place 5-0; Wyatt Turner fourth place 1-3; Cameron Fox 2-2 third place; Andrew Lummis fourth place 0-4; Vinny Vitale DNP 0-4 but showing a lot of improvement; Terrese Aaron first place 5-0; Gabe Deimeke second place 4-1.
Next competition for the MMS mat Dawgs will be this Tuesday at MMA.
EIGHTH GRADE MEXICO GIRLS: Mexico Lady Bulldogs were hosts to the Bowling Green Lady Bobcats Monday with the final decision going to Bowling Green 24-16.
Mexico was ahead in the first quarter and at halftime. "We were in it the whole game and played tough but they went on a run in the fourth quarter that we weren't able to match which was the difference," stated MMS coach Cindy Allison.
Leaders for Mexico were: McKenzie Resa 4P/5R, Kronesha Belcher 4P/8R, Morgan Bledsoe 4P/3S, Sydny Hull and Taylor Brown 2P each.
MMS (1-6) will return to action tonight at Marshall.
SEVENTH GRADE MEXICO BOYS: The seventh grade basketball boys moved to 5-0 with a 28-23 victory over the Bowling Green Bobcats Monday evening.
Cameron Holman led all scorers with 15P, while Deion Wayman 6P, Michael White 3P, Avion Williams 3P, and Cameron Baumgartner 1P chipped in to help the cause.

The Bulldogs host Marshall at 5 p.m. today.
NORTH CALLAWAY VARSITY GIRLS: After winning the Centralia tournament last week, the Ladybird's coach Jack Peace, was concerned about his team coming back against a good Clopton team, but his worries were put to rest early in the game with North Callaway jumped out to a 10-0 lead and ended up winning 64-46.
North Callaway had three players in double figures. Jaida Gray led North Callaway with 20 points, 8 steals and was 9-10 at the free throw line. Maddie Sorell scored 18 points with 12 rebounds; Tara Oberlag scored 13 points; and Elaine Brinker had 8 points and led the team with 6 assists.
"I was afraid of a let down after the Centralia Tournament, but the girls were ready to play and executed on offense and defense," said coach Peace.
North Callaway, 7-0 overall and 1-0 in conference, will play at home Friday against Wellsville which will be North Callaway's courtwarming.

Junior varsity led most of the way and was ahead 23-20 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but lost 36-27. Erin Bush led North Callaway with 7 points.
The JV team, 1-5, will play at home Friday against Wellsville.
NORTH CALLAWAY FRESHMEN & JV GIRLS: In their first game of the season, the Ladybirds lost to New Haven 30-15 over the weekend.
The junior varsity girls lost 29-10.
PARIS: The Coyotes basketball team lost 53-42 Thursday night againstLouisiana. Brant Francis, scored 6 points for Paris with one 3-pointer. Zane Lockhart led in rebounds with 8, followed by Brant Francis, Slater Stone and Zane Vaughn with 4 rebounds each.
Paris is now 0-4 overall.
