David Raymond Whitehead, 60, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Mexico, left this life to meet our Lord, Savior, Creator on Dec. 14, 2012 in his home. David was born June 15, 1952 in Mexico, Mo. to David H. Whitehead Jr. and Dorothy Whitehead. David graduated from Mexico High School in 1970 and went on to serve in the United States Army. David worked for Dennis Hanks Chevrolet in Ozark, Mo. for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman. David was preceded in death by his father David H. Whitehead Jr. as well as his grandparents. He is survived by his three children, Jake Whitehead and wife, Mary, of Fair Grove, Lucas Whitehead of Willard, and Rebecca King of Springfield; his mother, Dorothy Whitehead of Mexico; two grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan Whitehead of Fair Grove; five sisters, Brenda (Larry) Peak, Debbie Whitehead, Patty (Joe) Jones, Jackie (Tony) Tate, and Angela Newbrough, all of Mexico, along with a host of family and friends. Services will be at noon Thursday, Dec. 20 with visitation at 11 a.m. Thursday till time of service at Greenlawn Funeral Home, North Springfield, Mo. Burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery immediately following.
