Obituary published Dec. 21, 2012 in The Mexico Ledger

On Wednesday December 19th, 2013, the sudden and unexpected passing of Julie Marie Du Vall, a long time resident of Auxvasse, Mo, was a tragic shock to her friends, family, and loved ones.
Born Julie Marie Gilbert on October 25th, 1963 in Torrance, CA, her family moved to what would become the home of her heart in April 1973, Carthage, MO. She lived there with her father, C. Wayne Gilbert, her mother, Louisa Gilbert LeMasters, her two brothers, David and Eric, and her younger sister, Kimberly. She attended Carthage schools until she graduated in 1981, during which time she met the foundation of what would become the M&M girls, a group that has stayed together for over 30 years. Also during that time, while taking her brother Eric to the ballpark, she met the man who would become the love of her life and her husband, Cole (Mitch) Du Vall. They were married on October 30th, 1981, at the Haiku Gardens in Oahu, Hawaii. She completed her Nursing degree in 1991 at Norfolk State University and became an OB nurse, a passion that she would follow her entire life. She worked at many of the area hospitals, and many hospitals throughout the country, until she was forced to retire due to health issues.
She is survived by her husband, Mitch Du Vall, her children, Amanda and her fiance Adrian, Randi, and Jacob, her mother Louisa and her husband Bob, her siblings, David, Eric and his wife Amy, and Kimberly. She is also survived by many cousins, uncles, aunts, and nieces, of which Tiffani and Lexi always held a special place in her heart. Of her adopted children, Tiffani Guese, BJ Fletcher, and too many others to list. She was known as "Wendy" amongst the youth in Auxvasse, for her big heart and always open home.
Among her great passions were, first and foremost, her faith and belief in God, reading, gardening, and cooking. Julie will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 22nd at Grand Prairie Baptist Church in Auxvasse, MO. Family will receive guests at 1:00pm with services starting at 2:00pm.
Internment and visitation will be held in Carthage, MO on December 23rd at Knell Mortuary. Visitation will start at 2:00pm, with service at 3:00pm and burial to follow.
