  • Roberta Ilene Biggers Neale, 86 of Mexico, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at Golden Living Pin Oaks.
    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Arnold Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7 Friday at the funeral home.
    Roberta was born Oct. 27, 1926 to late Albert F. and Betty Jones Biggers in Vandalia, Mo. She graduated from Mexico High School in 1944. Roberta worked at Montgomery and Ward and Mack and Williams Grocery. On Feb. 3, 1952 she married Geo. I. Ike Neale Jr. at Bethlehem Baptist Church of rural Centralia, Mo. She then became a farm wife/housewife and mother.
    Roberta was involved in many community activities. She was a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, a member of the Women's Missionary Union at Bethlehem. She was also involved with the Friendly Northerners Extension Club holding various offices. Roberta also was a 4-H leader. She was a member of the Audrain Medical Center Auxiliary serving as president and enjoying the sewing group greatly.
    Roberta is survived by her daughter Pamela Flynn, Mexico, sons, Ron (Mary) Neale, Mexico, Mo., Jerry (Kelli) Neale of Fordland, Mo., brother Loren (Lorna) Biggers of Mexico, sisters, Marilyn (Bruce) Burdett, La Palma, Calif. and Shirley Davis, Moberly, Mo. "Grandma Ike" as she was affectionately known had 11 grandchildren, Courtney, Daniel, Kelli, Adam, Anna, Joseph, Mason and Landon Neale, Tracy Neale Martin, Brice and Neale Flynn, five great-grandchildren, Carsen, CeeAnna and Kamdyn Neale, Arianna Martin and Halie Lamberson.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Ike, her son Kenneth Neale, her parents, two brothers, Jimmy and Albert Jr. and grandsons, infant Colby Bruce Neale and Sean Lamberson.
