Fall is the colorful season between the sizzling summer and white winters. Fall tells this suntanned boy, that swimming in the sparkling pool water is over. Gone are the days of leisurely moving from the pool to the canopied-covered trampoline and back for a refreshing dip. School has taken over his free time for the next nine months.
Fall is change and sometimes unfortunately, unwanted death. Leaves, green with life, slowly change to brilliant shades of orange, red, and yellow. Dying leaves remind him of sunsets burning over the vast pacific ocean. How can something so beautiful be dying? He often thinks God compares colorful dying leaves to Jesus’ crucifixion. Jesus’ death, just like the leaves, brought about beautiful and miraculous changes and even resurrection.
Fall is relocating. Animals learn to adapt in their new place of choice, knowing they can go home in the spring. The suntanned boy knows change is inevitable but he will once again return to home in the spring. Fall is a glorious cycle of life.
