BASKETBALL: The Mexico Lady Bulldogs started off the game Thursday night against the Harrisburg Lady Bulldogs by going through the motions and not really focused in areas especially on defense but went on to win 64-33.
"Changing defenses helped with the tempo and forced them to take some bad shots," stated MHS coach Ed Costley.
Remington Greenwell had a well balanced game and found the range from outside. Brooke Costley did a good job of creating plays in the lane. The Lady Dawgs shot 54 percent from the field and 91 percent from the free throw line, making 11 of 12 at the line.
Kelli Ingrum led the Bulldogs in scoring with 16 points. She also led in rebounds with 10. Kelli Ingrum's inside presence to some good outside shooting in second half helped extend the lead said MHS coach. "It was a good win for this young team on the road," added Costley. The Lady Dawgs, 9-5 overall and 2-1 in conference, will play in the Gary Filbert Classic at 6:15 p.m. Saturday. "We have a tough challenge Saturday against state ranked Helias," stated Costley.
