Horatio Botts Cauthorn, 96 of Mexico, passed away at 2:19 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Missouri Veterans' Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Arnold Funeral Home with Raymond Iman officiating. Visitation is Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will be in the Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery north of Mexico.
Botts was born Dec. 11, 1916 in Audrain County, the son of Andrew J. and Mary V. (Botts) Cauthorn. On March 15, 1941 in Mexico, he married Frances Fay Freyer who preceded him in death on Dec. 21, 2004.
Mr. Cauthorn was a 1934 graduate of Perry High School and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mexico. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WWII and was a farmer. He liked to square dance and play cards, especially pitch.
Survivors include his son, John Cauthorn and wife, Brenda of Mexico; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Cauthorn of Centralia, Kaitlyn Frances Thomas and husband, Brent of Madison and Andrew H. John Cauthorn of Mexico; and one brother, William Fry Cauthorn of Mexico.
