Wilbur W. "Bud" Hightshoe, 96 of Mexico, died at 12:21 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at his home.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. David Nash officiating. There will be no visitation.
Bud was born on September 19, 1916, in Ashland, Nebr. a son of Arthur and Lola (Baldwin) Hightshoe. On March 25, 1960, in Mexico, he married Patricia Eads Null who preceded him in death on March 14, 2012.
Mr. Hightshoe was a member of the Kumler Methodist Episcopal Church in Ashland, Nebr.
He was a World War II Veteran. He had worked on the railroad, at A.P. Green Refractories, and in construction.
Wilbur is survived by six sons, Ralph Hightshoe and wife Kathy, Mexico, John Hightshoe, Mexico, Bill Hightshoe and wife Donneita, Vandalia, Jerry Hightshoe and wife Julie, Mexico, Terry Hightshoe and wife Amy, Mexico; Mike Hightshoe, Mexico; one daughter, Karen Larson and husband Robert, Newport News, Va.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice Compassus, American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
