Dorothy Sue Hamilton, 87, of Mexico, died at 3:15 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Kings Daughters Home in Mexico.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Karen Taylor officiating. There will be no visitation. Pickering Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Dorothy was born on Oct. 24, 1925, in Salisbury, a daughter of John F. and Lena Elizabeth (Lunce) Williamson. On Dec. 24, 1945, in Moberly, she married Garnett Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1974.
Mrs. Hamilton worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Lankford for 23 years. She had also worked for Woolworths in Moberly and Mexico for 13 years.
She was a member of Mexico United Methodist Church. She had formerly been a member of Rebekah Lodge 295, Lady Trainman Lodge in Moberly, Disabled American Vet's Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Post in Mexico, and Gold Star Wives of America.
She is survived by one brother, Robert F. Williamson and his wife Anita, Macon; one nephew, John F. Williamson and wife Olivia, Charlotte, N.C., one step-nephew, Joe Wood, Tex.; one step niece, Cindy Surma, Ill.; three great nieces; 1 great nephew; and her lifelong friends that cared for her for many years, Ray and Jordena Travis, Mexico.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Williamson and his wife, Elsa Williamson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Kings Daughters Home. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
