MEXICO LADY BULLDOGS: Bad defense combined with poor shooting in the first half, shooting only 17 percent from the field, put the Lady Bulldogs in a uphill battle in a 52-43 loss Monday night against conference rival Fulton Lady Hornets.
MHS coach Ed Costley credited Fulton as the Hornets took it to the Bulldogs who didn't respond physically or mentally. "Foul trouble early forced us to play cautious and they took advantage of it to build a lead," added the MHS coach.
Kelli Ingrum and Brooke Costley were able to hit some buckets in late to cut the lead to 8. Cassie Schmidt played some hard minutes along with Anne Baker down low. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Costley with 18 points including 4 from three-point range, followed by Kelli Ingrum with 11.
