NORTH CALLAWAY GIRLS: The Ladybirds traveled to Montgomery County Monday night and came home with a 43-19 victory.
At the end of the second quarter one of North Callaway's starters, Jaida Gray, fell and twisted her ankle. After being checked out by the medical staff her ankle was taped and she returned to the game.
"We overcame a little adversity to win the ball game," said North Callaway Coach Jack Peace, referring to the possibility of playing without Gray.
Maddie Sorrell led all players with 22 points, 4 blocks and 11 rebounds. Gray scored 16 points, while Cassidy Webster led the team with 4 steals.
For Montgomery County MacKenzie Yager scored 10 points and Hope Eoff scored 8.
North Callaway is 12-7 overall and 4-2 in conference. Montgomery is 2-18 and 2-4 in conference.

JV: The junior varsity Ladybirds lost in overtime to the Lady Wildcats 36-29. The score was tied at half and at the end of the game. In overtime the Lady Wildcats outscored the Ladybirds 7-0. For Montgomery Elinor Arens scored 15 and Karlie Schmidt scored 11. For North Callaway Skyler Smock scored 5.
COMMUNITY R-6 BOYS: On Saturday the Trojans increased their record to 15-4 with a victory over Westran 47-38.
Clay Thebeau led R-6 with 17 points, his brother Lane Thebeau scored 12 with 2 three-pointers. Justin Durham scored 8, Sean Wilson, 6, Conner Brooks and Shane Myers each scored 2. Wilson brought down 9 rebounds, and Durham had 7 rebounds.
Wilson also had 5 assists, followed by Brooks with 2. Clay Thebeau led the team with 4 steals.
