  • James E. Fulton, 72, of Sherman, TX went home to be with the Lord Wednesday February 5, 2013. Services will be held Friday, February 8th, at 11:00am at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am at the funeral home prior to the service. Officiating will be Pastor Duane Peters from Inspiration Point Cowboy Church in Tom Bean, TX, along with remarks from Bill Benton, Van Alstyne, TX. The family will have a private burial at Oakhill Cemetery following the service.
    Jim was born August 2, 1940, in Mexico, MO. to Gracie Lucille Fulton and William D. Fulton. He attended schools in Mexico, MO. and worked at the Coca Cola distributing center. He married Shirley Ann Barbarick January 16, 1959. He and his family moved to Sherman, TX, in 1974 where he worked at Bingswinger Glass, retiring there after 31 years of service. Jim enjoyed word working, gardening and going to the horse races. "Pop" was very passionate about spending time with his family, attending grandchildren's events and he loved his dogs. He was baptized in 1974 at Calvary Cross Baptist Church and currently attended Inspiration Point Cowboy Church in Tom Bean, TX.
    Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley. Sons: Jimmy Lee Fulton and wife Marsha of Sherman, TX, Steve Fulton and wife Debbie of Sherman, TX, and Rod Fulton of Pottsboro. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Brittany and Leslie Fulton of Sherman, TX, Laci, Cody and Sydney Fulton of Longview, TX, Skylar Fulton of Sherman, TX, Hunter Fulton of Pottsboro, TX, and one great granddaughter, Maddileyn Fulton of Longview, TX.
    He was preceded in death by: His parents, sister Helen Harvey and brother, William R. Fulton
    Pall bearers will be: Cody Fulton, Jason Melton, Don Thorpe, John Griffin, Robert Lacy, Dennis Southerland and Ken Peete
    Arrangements are under the care of Waldo Funeral Home.
