    "Seven members of the Hardin College Dramatic Club, chaperoned by their instructor, Miss Dickerson went to Kansas City today, to witness the Southern Marlowe performance of "Twelfth Night," William Shakespeare's great comedy which they will present during commencement."

    "Mrs. Leo Grace was hostess to the Centralia Flower and Garden Club at her home Monday afternoon with 18 members and two guests, Mrs. Dale Grace and Mrs. Elizabeth Merz, present. Mrs. John Triebwasser, president, was in charge of the meeting and plans were announced for the spring tea which will be held at the Fellowship Hall of the First Christian Church. Members of the Moberly Garden Club will be guests. Each member of the Centralia Club is to bring a Senior Citizen as her guest. Mrs. Bill Meador and Mrs. L.C. Henderson are hostesses for the tea."

    "Gary O. Mackey has been promoted to assistant vice president for Community Federal Savings and Loan Association's Mid-Missouri Division, according to William J. Riffel, senior vice president of the division. In his new position, Mr. Mackey, 37, will be responsible for mortgage lending and branch administration of the 23 offices and agencies within the division, which is headquartered in Mexico. A native of Mexico, Mr. Mackey is a resident of Columbia. He is a member of the Mexico Rotary Club and chairman of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Budget and Finance Committee."

    "Bryan Bealmer, an eighth grade student at Mexico Junior High won first-place in the school's Geographic Bee at which time students answered oral questions on geography. This was the first round in the 15th annual National Geographic Bee. Bryan now has to take a written test; up to 100 of the top scorers will be eligible to compete in the state competition April 4. Brant Melvin, an eighth grade student at Mexico Junior High School is the school's Spelling Bee winner. Brant, son of Paula Sigman has advanced to the Columbia Daily Tribune Regional Spelling Bee."
