Girls and boys teams win against Van-Far

NORTH CALLAWAY GIRLS: The North Callaway Ladybirds finished their regular season at home against the Van-Far Indians with a 59-22 victory.
Ladybirds in double figures were: Maddie Sorrell, 21 points and 10 rebounds; Tara Oberlag, 14 points; and Jaida Gray, 13 points and 6 steals.
Sorrell was 10-12 from the field; and Oberlag was 4-4 from two-point range and 2-3 from three-point range.
"It was nice to be able to take the lead early providing quality playing for a lot of players," said NorCal Coach Jack Peace.
Brooke Johnson from Van-Far was in double figures with 11 points.

NORTH CALLAWAY BOYS: The Thunderbirds finished their regular season at home Friday against the Van-Far Indians. The 58-47 victory gives the Thunderbirds an undefeated season at home.
Justin Murphy scored 17 points for the Thunderbirds, followed by Jacob Haubner with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Zac Eads was the other Thunderbird in double figures with 10 points.
"It is always good to end the regular season with a win on senior night and it is good to play at home and not lose a game all season," said NorCal Coach Tim Turlington.
The Indians had three players in double figures. Nick Barnes scored 15 with 4 baskets from three-point range and scored 14 of his points in the second half. Ethan Gooch scored 13 and Brian Kurz scored 12 points.
The North Callaway boys and girls begin district play this week at home. The girls play at 5 p.m. today against Winfield and the boys play at 9 p.m. Tuesday against Hermann.

JUNIOR VARSITY: The North Callaway JV team won 45-22. Steven Coleman scored 18 points for North Callaway. For Van-Far Woodrow Jackson scored 10 points.
