The Mexico Lady Bulldogs were hot from the very beginning of Monday night's game against the Hannibal Lady Pirates at Hannibal in an NCMC game.
The Lady Dawgs were four of five from 3-point range to take a 12-0 lead early in the game.
"We were able to put together a solid defensive effort with changing defenses that had Hannibal out of sync. We had great contribution all around," stated MHS coach Ed Costley.
Brooke Costley was 4 of 6 from 3-point range. Anne Baker and Kelli Ingrum worked hard on the boards giving Mexico the defensive stops they needed in the 46-29 victory over Hannibal.
The Lady Dawgs kept the Lady Pirates to single-digit scoring in three of the four periods, while Mexico shot 50 percent from the field as well as 50 percent from 3-point range and 60 percent from the free throw line.
Costley led in scoring with 20 points. She also led in rebounds with 8. She provided 3 assists and came up with 1 steal. Remi Greenwell scored 8 points had 2 assists and 2 steals. Kelli Ingrum came up with 7 rebounds, and Anne Baker pulled down 6. Baker also tied with Costley, coming up with 3 assists.
The Lady Bulldogs, 14-10 overall and 7-4 in conference, wrap up their regular season Friday at home against the Fulton Lady Hornets, another conference team.

JUNIOR VARSITY: The JV team lost 32-29. Leading in scoring for Mexico was Ali Mudd with 12 points followed by Leslie Fischer with 6 and Laura Fischer with 4. Riley Greenwell scored 3 points and pulled down 3 rebounds. Kaitlin Ingrum and Victoria Shaw each scored 2 points for the Lady Dawgs.
