  • The City of Mexico declares a Snow Emergency as of 3:00 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 2013 until further notice. In declaring a Snow Emergency a special "No Parking" ban goes into effect on streets signed as part of the Emergency Snow Route. Residents or businesses located along the Emergency Snow Route are prohibited to park their vehicles on the streets during a declared snow emergency. Vehicles left on these designated streets significantly interfere with snow removal operations and are subject to being towed at the owner's expense or plowed in. Snow Emergency Routes are the first streets to be plowed generally in a grid pattern.
The following streets located within the City are hereby designated as emergency snow routes:
    Clark to Agriculture
Liberty Street from Muldrow to Morris
Boulevard from Muldrow to Elmwood Drive
Clark from Boulevard to Love Street
Lakeview from Morris to West city limits
Teal Lake from U.S. Highway 54 to Fairground
Fairground from Teal Lake to Lakeview
Morris from Boulevard to Highway 22 (Monroe)
Love Street from Agriculture to North Western
Jefferson from Liberty to North city limits
Kentucky from Highway 22 to North city limits
    Summit from Jefferson to Agriculture
    Omar from Boulevard to Lakeview
    Hendricks from Kentucky to Jefferson
Breckenridge from Fairground to Green Boulevard
For a map of the Emergency Snow Route please refer to the City website: www.mexicomissouri.net
The Snow Emergency Route system was planned so very few residents have to go more than a few blocks to get to a plowed main street. It works the other way also, allowing public safety and other emergency vehicles to get within a few blocks of any home by way of plowed streets. These are truly "emergency" routes to keep essential services functioning after major snowfalls that would otherwise paralyze the City.
Residents are encouraged to remove vehicles from all streets whenever a large snow event is predicted to assist in the efficiency in plowing snow citywide.
