D. Kenneth Keller, 90 of Mexico, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at Teal Lake Assisted Living.
Visitation for Mr. Keller will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Arnold Funeral Home with an I.O.O.F. Lodge service at 11 a.m. A memorial service will follow with Rev. Chris Atkinson officiating.
Kenny was born Sept. 15, 1922 in Salisbury, the son of Fred and Goldie Keller. He married Marjorie Belcher on Oct. 11, 1947 in Salisbury and she survives.
Mr. Keller was a graduate of Salisbury High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WWII in Italy, France and Germany. He worked over 40 years at A.P. Green and Lawrence Drug Store.
Kenny joined the Mexico I.O.O.F. Lodge on April 9, 1963. He was an officer in the Missouri Grand Lodge for forty years, serving as the Grand Master in 1972. He was dedicated to the Odd Fellows Lodge and received many awards over the years. He had been the head of the Audrain County Democratic Committee and served as Joe Maxwell's campaign secretary. Mr. Keller loved trout fishing and was a great family man.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Mexico; brothers-in-law, Don Belcher and wife, Jodi of Fayette and James Belcher of Arlington, Texas; and nieces and nephews, Mark Belcher of Fayette, Tamara Hinds and husband, Kurt of Fayette, Walter Belcher and wife, Sarah of Mountain Grove, Barbara Belcher of Dallas, Texas and Jacqueline Belcher of Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the I.O.O. F Memorial Fund or the Mexico Senior Center. Both may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
