"A proposal for re-zoning of an area along W. Boulevard will go before the Mexico city council, following action yesterday afternoon by the city planning and zoning commission. The land would include a portion of the Fairgrounds and officials told the planning board that the Fair had two buyers for portions of the tract. The board voted to submit its recommendation to the council, to re-zone as a commercial area a strip of more than two blocks in length east and west. A request from officials of the Audrain County Fair Board for rezoning originally went before the council at a recent study meeting and had been referred to the planning board for its recommendation."

Bill Todd, county road and bridge supervisor, said one is about ready to go to the bid process and will soon be under construction. This is the Powell's Ford bridge on Molino Road north of Mexico. It will be a 210-foot double T girder for which the cost according to engineer's estimate, will be $400,000."
