Recognized at Senior Academic Banquet

Forty-three Mexico High School students were recognized at the Senior Academic Banquet held Monday night in the MHS Sports Complex lobby. MHS Principal Dr. Terry Robinson welcomed the parents, friends and family of the 43 honorees and introduced the Mexico Board of Education members, school administrators, MHS faculty and staff and their spouses sitting at the head table. Vice principal and Activity Director Jeff Anderson introduced the guest speaker, Chuck Rentschler, (above, left) a 1972 MHS graduate and former Mexico Board of Education member. In speaking to the students, Rentschler told the students the roads they travel in life might be "a little rough and tough," but making the right decisions will help keep them on track. Media/Journalism instructor Jami Williams and her media students presented a "Salute to Seniors" video compilation and the catered meal was served by the MHS Student Council. Bulletins given out expressed thanks to the community for its support of the students and helping make Mexico High School a community of "learners creating learners." ledger photos by kimberly long
