    "A bill making it illegal for a firm or individual to insert a false or misleading advertisement in a newspaper or periodical in this state, has gone to engrossment in both houses of the Missouri Legislature. The bill will be taken up for final discussion in the next few days and has a good prospect of passing. The bill, known as House Bill No. 65, was introduced in this session of the Legislature by Representative Nicholas M. Houx of LaFayette County."

    "John A. Owens, 35, building official for the City of Mexico for more than three years, has resigned this position to become director of aviation for the Missouri Division of Commerce and Industrial Development at Jefferson City. The announcement was made this morning by City Manager Robert Semple who said that Owens' resignation will be effective March 25. Owens has been in charge of issuing building permits and seeing that building codes are followed in construction within the city."

    "The 28th installation of officers of the Little Dixie Shrine Club was held at the Empire Club in Mexico. Jon Oliver, outgoing president, extended the welcome and the invocation was given by Connie Pickering, chaplain. G. Andy Runge was master of ceremonies for the evening. New officers installed were: Gerald E. Kelley, president; Dr. Robert Peak, first vice president; Raymond Schulte, second vice president; Buddy Mongler, third vice president; Larry Strode, secretary; William Schindler, treasurer; Elmer Aussieker, recorder; William Robinson, historian; and 17 governors representing the towns in Little Dixie Shrine District."
