James Richards, Sr., 81, of Columbia, passed away March 11, 2013 at South Hampton Place.
James was born November 25, 1931 to the late Reverend Charles E. and Mary Richards. In April 1966, he married Shirley Kemp and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by four children, Jamie Richards, fiancé Deborah Lipshield, Marcus Kemp, wife Danielle, all of Columbia, LaDonya Milner, husband Jeff of California, Vanae Scott, and fiancé Sebastian, of Columbia; one sister, Millie Lyle of California; six grandchildren, Tynisha Ketterman of Columbia, Tyaleena Ketterm of Texas, D'Antre Crews of Columbia, Ashley Grant, husband Mike of Moberly, Crystal Milner and Jaelin Milner both of California; and one great-grandchild, Kenley Grant of Moberly.
He is also preceded in death by a son, Eugene Richards; four brothers; one sister; and one granddaughter, Tasha Loggins.
James had a great passion for studying the word of GOD. He loved his sports, fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with his family.
A Memorial Service will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m.
