"Arrangements have been made for the mass meeting of Audrain County citizens in the interest of Farm Advisor Movement and the organization of the Audrain County Bureau of Agriculture. This will be a two-day meeting to be held at Lyric Theatre, Mexico, on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 25th and 26th. The Lyric Theatre will seat 1,000 persons."

"Don Forbis of Wellsville has joined the advertising staff at The Ledger and will be in charge of classified advertising, replacing Don Branson, who has resigned to take another position. Mr. Forbis attended Fulton High School and is the son of Clyde Forbis of Fulton. He is married to the former Miss Rovera Debo of Wellsville and they have three children, Paul, Stephanie and Cynthia. He operated his own business in Wellsville before coming to Mexico. The family are members of the Wellsville Methodist Church and Mr. Forbis is a member of the Masonic Lodge."

"More than 200 friends of Rev. Robert Collins, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Mexico, filled the Knights of Columbus Hall Friday evening as he was honored with the Distinguished Citizen Award, presented by the Little Dixie District, Great Rivers Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Tim Williams, district chairman, read a resolution from the Missouri House of Representatives in recognition of the award. He also presented the Rev. Collins with the New Random House Dictionary of the English Language and a walnut dictionary stand, handcrafted by Jim Atkinson, a gifts from the Boy Scouts."

"The DAR essay winners were honored at the March 3 meeting. Winners include Robert Seigfreid, Benjamin Jennings, Kaitlyn Woods, fifth grade; Matthew Wilson, Katherine Wortmann, Makenzie Mudd, sixth grade; William Seigfreid, Kathryn Perll, seventh grade; Ryan Tyser, Rebekah Burke, Katherine Hamlett, eighth grade; and Sarah Seigfreid."
