Gena Brown, 57, of Mexico, died at 10:15 p.m., Monday, March 25, 2013, at her home.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Mexico Elks Lodge with Rev. Randy Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service.
Gena was born April 25, 1955, in Fredericksburg, Tex., a daughter of Otto and Velma Anne (Sparks) Henke. Gena married L.G. Brown on May 5, 1979 in Mexico. She worked at Brown's Web Press Service as the Office Manager.
Gena was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Mexico Elks Lodge and worked for several years as bar manager for the Elks. She enjoyed barbeques, being outside in the summer, being with her grandkids and Cardinals Baseball.
In additions to her husband she is survived by one son, Kyle Brown and wife Jessica of Mexico; very close cousin raised in same home, Jill Sharp of Chicago, Ill.; two step brothers, Don Sparks and Gary Sparks both of Kansas City, one sister-in-law Peggy Sparks of Roach; two grandchildren, Cayden and Jace Brown both of Mexico; and two nieces, Regena Heritage of Roach, and Freddie Sparks of Colorado Spring, Co.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister Diane Henke; two brothers, Courtney Henke and Dwight Sparks.
